Gold Coast: A skilled workforce

The Gold Coast has a diverse and rapidly growing economy, with a Gross Regional Product of $49.46 billion. While tourism and construction remain significant, the economy is increasingly driven by other sectors such as Advanced Manufacturing, Space, Aerospace & Defence, Industry 4.0 and ICT, and Marine and Biomedical technologies. The city is experiencing the fastest economic growth in Australia and has a low unemployment rate, with a projected population of one million by 2040.

Introducing the new Gold Coast RJC

Welcome to the website of the newly established Gold Coast Regional Jobs Committee. I’m excited to share that Regional Development Australia (RDA) Gold Coast has been appointed as the host organisation for the 2025–27 term.

Regional Jobs Committees play a crucial role in shaping Queensland’s workforce future — identifying emerging challenges, developing practical, region-specific solutions, and connecting businesses, community organisations and individuals with programs, resources and support.

Here on the Gold Coast, we’re ready to work closely with industry, education, community and government partners to identify local priorities and drive initiatives that build a strong, skilled and future-ready workforce for our region.

ROBYN KEENAN, CHAIR

The Gold Coast Regional Jobs Committee is proudly supported and funded by the Queensland Government.
